Mary C. Smith Charitable Autism Trust
The services available to children with Autism today would not exist if not for Dr. Mary.
She changed lives. Her legacy lives on.
Our Mission
The Dr. Mary Trust for Autism aims to fund projects that enhance the quality of life for individuals living with autism.
We fund projects that are sponsored by a registered 501(c)(3) organization with a proven record of charitable work. Projects should have measurable goals, adhere to current best practices in supporting individuals with autism where applicable, and aim to improve the lives of identifiable adults with autism.
Priority will be given to projects that focus on enhancing home or work life for adults with autism. The approval committee will favor initiatives that improve social interaction, develop work skills, or support independent living. Our primary focus is on equipping adults with the skills needed to enhance their quality of life.
Her Impact
The echo of Dr. Mary's work can still be heard today. She changed entire worlds.
In the 1990's, Dr. Mary revolutionized the way we diagnose and treat children on the autism spectrum in Ohio. She was relentless in pushing for the best, evidence-based treatment for the families she served, sometimes at the risk of her own career.
